SAFEGUARD SERVICES

SafeGuard Services (SGS) is a Program Safeguard Contractor (PSC) to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). PSCs perform program integrity functions under the Medicare Integrity Program in numerous jurisdictions across the U.S. SM has analyzed Medicare and Medicaid claims data to identify possible false or improper payments in several SGS jurisdictions.

CATAPULT CONSULTANTS

Catapult Consultants is a minority owned, 8(a) certified, full-service Information Technology and Financial Management Services consulting firm. It specializes in financial management operations support, financial application audits, financial process improvement, internal controls assessments, system data quality assurance, systems development, and database design. With both government and non-profit clients, Catapult’s innovative solutions are designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. SM has teamed with Catapult Consulting to help the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services develop its Medicaid Integrity Audit Program.

ADVANCEMED

AdvanceMed has been a Medicare Program Safeguard Contractor since 2000, operating the Western Integrity Center (WIC). It is responsible for the detection and prevention of Medicare fraud and abuse in several states. SM has teamed with them to provide investigative support for a Zone Program Integrity Contract.

PEROT SYSTEMS GOVERNMENT SERVICES

Perot Systems is a national corporation committed to leading the transformation of the healthcare industry to a unified system that supports consumer wellness and knowledge. It is currently focusing on the prevention and detection of fraud, waste, and abuse in the Medicare Program. Perot’s adherence to quality standards, coupled with its expertise in developing and implementing customized approaches to detecting and preventing fraud and abuse, positions the organization to be the partner and contractor of choice. SM and Perot are teaming to assist CMS in preventing and detecting fraud and abuse in the Medicare prescription drug benefit program.

BOOZ ALLEN HAMILTON

A global leader in strategy and technology consulting, Booz Allen provides services to major international corporations and government clients around the world. SM has partnered with Booz Allen on multiple initiatives, including assisting the Military Health System TRICARE Management Activity in assessing and implementing compliance with the Administrative Simplification provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

KEARNEY & COMPANY

Kearney & Company is a CPA firm specializing in federal audit, management, and information technology consulting. Since 1998, Kearney & Company has audited Medicare Part B cost reports, reviewed and audited Adjusted Community Rate (ACR) proposals, participated in the CFR Act audit of HCFA, and served as an audit quality review program (AQRP) contractor. SM teamed with Kearney & Company on several federal contracts, including one on the CMS Medicare Managed Care Program Integrity and another relating to the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program administered by the Office of Personnel Management.. SM and Kearney & Company also partner on a variety of private sector compliance reviews.

HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS, LLC

Healthcare Management Solutions, LLC (HMS), is a woman owned, small, disadvantaged, 8(a) certified business that provides services to non-profit, government and for-profit clients. HMS uses a customized, hands-on approach to identify and deliver programs and services specifically designed for their clients. HMS’s personnel have over 40 years of experience in direct patient care, administration and operations and educational programming. Their services include marketing research and analysis, operational solutions, education and training, and conference, meeting and event services. SMS has partnered with HMS on several proposals to CMS for Medicare and Medicaid integrity activities.
